Halloween Candy Bark #Blogtober

A festive mix of chocolate and Halloween themed candy, make up these fun and delicious Halloween treats.

Halloween recipes have always caught my attention. They are so cute, festive and bring out those childhood feelings of excitement. I am all about easy Halloween treats and have shared quite a few DIY Halloween treats on my blog. This one came about when I found a bag of bulk store candy in my cupboard.

You know what the problem with the Bulk store is??? They have so many awesome things and when you scoop them into those plastic bags, you just don't know how much you are putting in there. I always try to get just enough for what ever recipe I'm planning on making, but it never works. I'm always left with bags of candies, sprinkles, nuts and chocolate melts. That's exactly what I found in my cupboard the other day. I huge Bulk Barn bag, full of chocolates and Halloween candies. So, I decided to use them all (well most of them) and make some Halloween Bark.

Chocolate barks are so easy and you can make any imaginable flavour combination. In my version today, milk chocolate is drizzled with while and coloured chocolates, then topped with Reese's Pieces, Candy Corn (I had a few so I used them), candy eye balls and Gummy Worms. Frightfully delicious, the kids are just devouring this. This would be a great special treat to give to the little trick or treat-ers in your family, or even as a school Halloween party treat!




Halloween Bark

1 1/2 C milk chocolate melts
1/2 C each white, orange and green chocolate melts
candy corn (optional)
Reese's Pieces
gummy worms
candy eye balls (optional)

Place chocolate melts in separate bowls. Heat each bowl,  in microwave, for 90 seconds; stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with parchment paper. Slowly pour melted milk chocolate onto parchment paper, trying to spread it out, evenly. Put remaining 3 melted chocolates into separate zip top bags. Cut a small hole in one end of each zip top bag, and drizzle white, green and orange chocolate over the milk chocolate. Sprinkle with candies and gently press into chocolate. Place in freezer to set, about 30-45 minutes. To break, grab both ends of the parchment paper, and drop it onto your kitchen counter. The chocolate should break into pieces.

  1. Good idea to use leftover candy to create candy bark! I will have to see if I have any candy in the pantry so I can make something similar :)
