Apple Pie Baked Oatmeal

Healthy baked oatmeal is the perfect breakfast to make for the week, or for Sunday brunch. Super simple to put together, flavours can be changed to use in season fruit. It'll keep you full and going all morning long! Jump to Recipe Last week, I took a much needed break. A break from everything. From working out, from counting points, from blogging and social media. I had a set back with my IBD and it took me about 4 days to finally start feeling better. That meant eating horribly, avoiding any fruit and vegetables. Instead of stressing about it, I decided to just take a break, still being mindful of portions. Having enjoyed a free week, I am ready to get back on track. While I did take a break from blogging and social media, I was still in the kitchen, enjoying cooking for my family, without telling them to not eat this or that ,until I've taken photos. One early morning I had a craving for baked oatmeal, so made this apple pie version, before the rest of the house came to lif

Vegan Blueberry Coconut Frozen Yogurt (No-Machine)

Fresh blueberries are the star in this simple frozen yogurt recipe. With no machine needed, a handful of ingredients are combined to make a delicious vegan summer treat!   Jump to Recipe It's summer and my kids have been craving ice cream. Almost every day I get a request to go for ice cream. In the past, I would have happily loaded them into the car, and enjoyed a sinful cone of ice cream with them. Now that I started Weight Watchers, I was hit with the reality of just how many points are in ice cream. It doesn't mean I will never enjoy it, it just means it won't be a weekly occurence. That's why I decided to try and make a lower point version that I could enjoy everyday, if I wanted. Without feeling guilty. I have always been a frozen yogurt fan. I love the smooth tart creamy treat, that isn't overly sweet and full of fruit. Unfortunately most frozen yogurts sold in stores are also packed with sugar, or corn syrup. As delicious as they may be, they are almost ice

You're the STAR Blog Hop and CREATIVE Features

This linky party is the perfect place to show off your creativity! Share your blog posts, for a chance to be featured next month!   It's been a busy few weeks for me, with the start of Summer. We spent several days at the cottage over the Canada Day long weekend, and recently visited my parents for the first time, in almost 1 yr. It was great being able to spend time with them again. I hope this is the beginning of our new post covid normal.  __________________________________________________________________ Welcome to the second week of the July 2021 blog hop called " You're the Star " ! Before we continue onto the Linky party I wanted to share this post from my blog: This extremely moist and flavourful Zucchini Cake Recipe , is packed with warm spices and topped with a tangy cinnamon cream cheese frosting. So delicious, it'll take you back to your grandmother's kitchen. ________________________________________________________________________ WELCO

Old Fashion Zucchini Cake

This extremely moist and flavourful zucchini cake recipe, is packed with warm spices and topped with a tangy cinnamon cream cheese frosting. So delicious, it'll take you back to your grandmother's kitchen. Jump to Recipe I can't remember the first time I tasted zucchini cake, but I do know that ever since that first bite I've always been a huge fan of it. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the warm spices that season the delicious cake batter. I've always enjoyed desserts made with cinnamon, cloves and all spice. That paired with the sweet and tanginess of the cream cheese frosting, makes this scrumptious cake a crowd pleaser.  My memere (French for Grandmother), use to make zucchini loaf every year when fresh zucchini became abundant in gardens around town. It was a delicious way to use up the bounty green little gems. Since zucchini has a mild flavour, it is perfect to bake with. Why do people put zucchini in cake? Zucchini, as an ingredient, is considered simil

Easy Peach Cobbler

This peach cobbler recipe is super easy to make and tastes amazing. Tender juicy peaches are topped with fluffy cake batter to create the perfect mouthwatering peach recipe. Jump to Recipe Ontario peaches have been abundant and my parents recently brought some to us, so we've been enjoying our first taste of summer peaches. The kids absolutely love eating fresh, juicy peaches and look forward to the time of year when we can find some local peaches to eat. I'd have to say, there is nothing better than biting into that first sweet and juicy peach. It almost makes me swoon every time! The only thing better, I think, would be peach cobbler. Peach cobbler reminds me of  Poor Man's Pudding , but made with peaches. By that I mean, the tender peaches are on the bottom, with a fluffy cake like topping. So, whenever I get the chance, I love to make peach cobbler. The smell of it cooking is SO intoxicating. Sweet aromas of peach and vanilla fill the house and make us all anxious to d
