Perfect for any celebration, this pizza bursting with fresh fruit is a perfect way to welcome Spring. After all who could resist a giant soft sugar cookie, cream cheese frosting and delicious fresh fruit? I know I sure can't! I am all about great looking food. Asian Shrimp Dip

Tender cocktail shrimp are the star in this delicious cold dip, bursting with Asian flavours. A wonderful appetizer for any special occasion, or a great addition to any charcuterie board.  Jump to Recipe As I've mentioned in earlier posts, growing up my family didn't venture with different forms of cuisine. We did enjoy the occasional Chinese buffet, when we went to town, but other than that our menus consisted of pretty much basic meat and potatoes. It wasn't until I moved out and married, that I started enjoying different varieties of cuisine. I have been lucky enough in my lifetime to be able to experience amazing cuisines from different cultures. Though I haven't travelled much beyond the Canadian and U.S borders, I have been lucky to enjoy authentic cuisines from Mexico, India and Vietnam.  Living in Houston for 3 yrs my ex employed and befriended many immigrants from Mexico. We were lucky enough to be invited for dinner and experience the most amazing Carne Asada

Simple to make  and deliciously fun, the colourful cake and chocolate studded whipped cream is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. Jump to Recipe Here comes Peter Cotton Tail, hoping down the bunny trail..... Easter is right around the corner and we have been enjoying some of our favourite Easter candy. Since I was little, Cadbury Creme Eggs, have been a staple for Easter. I remember spending my allowance to buy my siblings and parents Easter treats and I'd always make sure to buy Mom a Creme Egg. Now that I am older, I can not let the season go by without having at least one. What exactly is a Cadbury Creme Egg?   The creme egg is a signature Easter treat from the Cadbury chocolate company. It consists of an egg shaped chocolate shell, which contains a runny fondant meant to resemble the yolk and albumen, of real eggs. It is a very popular Easter candy, all around the globe. My daugh

Caprese Focaccia Bread

This crusty and fluffy Italian favourite is topped with melty mozzarella cheese, fresh tomato and basil. Serve it as a tasty appetizer, or an elegant side to a salad, this focaccia is sure to be enjoyed by all. Jump to Recipe I've always loved Italian food, which was difficult when I was little, since my dad was not one to eat herbs and spices and he dislikes garlic. But I remember mom buying pizza for us to eat on Fridays, and jarred pasta sauce for us to enjoy when dad worked afternoon shift. I remember visiting my older sister, after she moved out and enjoying manicotti, lasagna and alfredo pastas. Once I moved out on my own, I became more adventurous in my culinary undertakings and started to read more Italian recipes.  I've never been brave enough to try making homemade pasta, but I fell in love with bread baking many years ago. I love making soft fluffy dough and turning it into something comforting and delicious. It wasn't until a few years ago, that I tried my hand

Fresh Fruit Salad with Caramel Cream Dressing

Tart, flavourless winter berries and fruit are jazzed up by tossing them in a creamy caramel dressing. Elevating that often less flavourful winter fruit to new heights! Jump to Recipe My kiddos love almost every kind of fruit. As a Mom, that makes me super happy. I'd rather have them reach for a piece of fruit, than for candy. During the winter, fresh fruit can get a little dull and boring. Imported berries and tropical fruits are so expensive, so we find ourselves eating more apples, pears, oranges and bananas. Sometimes we get lucky and we can find some reasonably priced berries, but I find they aren't as sweet as the local berries we get in the summer. When I buy a batch of berries that aren't that sweet, I like to turn them into a fruit salad, with tons of other fruit. On my last trip to the store, I found some strawberries and blueberries that were on sale. I brought some home, but the kiddos weren't too crazy for them, saying they were a bit tart. I decided to th
