Conversation Heart Blondies

 Tender chewy blondies are studded with adorable conversation heart candy and topped with cherry cream cheese frosting. Krispie Rice Cereal Ghosts #Blogtober

A childhood favourite can be easily transformed into a delicious Halloween treat.

Halloween will be here before we know it, but it may be very different this year. As parents try to decide what will be safest for our kids, kids worry that yet another fun part of childhood will be canceled due to this pandemic.

Will there be Halloween parties at school? Will there even be in class learning in past October? Unfortunately many things are unknown right now. Even if we can't go out to celebrate Halloween, it doesn't mean we can't make the best of it at home. These cute Rice Krispie Pops would be great for a small at home Halloween party with those in your social bubble. They are quick, easy and oh so cute.

Krispie Rice Cereal Ghosts

One batch of Rice Krispie Squares (recipe below)
1 1/2 C white melting chocolate
candy eye balls
Black Wilton Sparkle Gel

Cut the Rice Krispie Treats into two inch wide rectangles. Insert a lollipop stick into the center, and set aside.

In a large coffee mug, melt the chocolate, in the microwave; using 30 second intervals.

Dip 2/3 of the pop in the melted chocolate, gently shaking off any excess. Place on a parchment lined baking tray. Quickly place the candy eyeballs; two per ghost. Repeat with remaining pops. Place in the freezer to set.

Once chocolate is set, draw a spooky mouth, using the black sparkle gel.

Rice Krispies Treats

3 Tbs butter
1 pkg (10 oz) large marshmallows (about 40)
4 C miniature marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal

In a large saucepan melt the butter. Add in the marshmallows and stir until melted. Add in the vanilla and remove from heat.

Add Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal and stir to coat completely.

Using buttered hands, press the mixture into a buttered 13x9 inch baking dish. Let cool to room temperature, before cutting.
